The Bruce Wood Dance Excellence Awards are a celebration of the extraordinary talents shaping the vibrant Dallas/Fort Worth dance community. These awards shine a spotlight on individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the art form during the 2023–2024 dance season.

All applicants and nominees must:

• Submit materials generated during the 2023–2024 dance season;
• Reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex; and
• Be available to accept the physical award in September 2024.
 

COLLEGE STUDENT AWARDS

Students must personally submit an application to be eligible for awards.

Senior Performer

Eligible Candidate

A current junior dance major who will be a senior during the 2024–2025 school year.

$550 Scholarship 
WOOD I WORKS Intensive—Full Week

Eligible Candidate
A current sophomore or junior dance major who will be a junior or senior during the 2024–2025 school year.

A current sophomore dance major who will be a junior during the 2024–2025 school year.

• Headshot
• Résumé
• Video—up to three minutes; not to exceed three excerpts
• A brief essay (maximum 500 words) detailing why you should be awarded
. You can include the following:
       Your contributions to the dance community; your achievements as a student; your future goals as a dancer.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT AWARDS

• Educator’s name and your relationship with that person
;
• E
ducator’s email address; and
• A brief essay (maximum 500 words) detailing why the educator should be given the award, including a list of the educator’s achievements within the dance community and the impact on students the educator has made.
