The Bruce Wood Dance Excellence Awards are a celebration of the extraordinary talents shaping the vibrant Dallas/Fort Worth dance community. These awards shine a spotlight on individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the art form during the 2023–2024 dance season.
All applicants and nominees must:
• Submit materials generated during the 2023–2024 dance season;
• Reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex; and
• Be available to accept the physical award on October 5 at the Fort Worth Dance Festival.
COLLEGE STUDENT AWARDS
Students must personally submit an application by September 15, 2024 to be eligible for awards.
Senior Performer

Outstanding Choreographer

A current faculty member of a college who is actively teaching dancers.
High School Educator

A current faculty member of a high school who is actively teaching dancers.
APPLICATION

• Educator’s name and your relationship with that person;
• Educator’s email address; and
• A brief essay (maximum 500 words) detailing why the educator should be given the award, including a list of the educator’s achievements within the dance community and the impact on students the educator has made.
