The Bruce Wood Dance Excellence Awards are a celebration of the extraordinary talents shaping the vibrant Dallas/Fort Worth dance community. These awards shine a spotlight on individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the art form during the 2025–2026 dance season.
All applicants and nominees must:
• Submit materials generated during the 2025–2026 dance season;
• Call the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex their home town; and
• Be available to accept the physical award in person.

High School Dancer
$1,000 Cash Award
Eligible Candidate
A dance artist who will be attending high school during the 2026–2027 school year.
College Dancer
$1,000 Cash Award
Eligible Candidate
A dance artist who will be attending college during the 2026–2027 school year.
Dance Educator
$1,000 Cash Award
Eligible Candidate
Must be nominated by a third party.
High School and College Application Requirements
• Headshot
• Résumé
• Dance Reel—up to five minutes
• A brief essay (maximum 500 words) detailing why you should be awarded. You can include the following:
Your contributions to the dance community; your achievements as a student; your future goals as a dancer.
Dance Educator Application Requirements
• Nominator submits a 500–word essay on why the nominee should be awarded.
